MIFICPA Donates to Typhoon Ondoy Victims

Typhoon Ketsana (PAGASA name: Ondoy) which formed on September 23 2009, northwest of Palau, arrived in the Philippines on September 25 and brought the worst recorded rainfall to Metro Manila according to PAGASA. It did not brought any strong winds but hours of heavy rainfall bringing in floods in various places in Metro Manila and neighboring rural areas. President Gloria Arroyo declared a "state of calamity" in most parts of Luzon after at least 86 casualties were initially reported dead in landslides and other typhoon incidents. Flood water levels reached a record 20 feet high in rural areas. As of October 9, 2009, at least 337 deaths were officially reported from the typhoon in the Philippines (source: Typhoon Ketsana (2009) - Wiki)

A lot of people died, some are still missing, many home and other properties were destroyed. In this time of tragedy, many foundations, nonprofit and humanitarian organizations, are calling for help and donations to help those victims of the typhoon. As an organization with the mission to provide assistance to the public, MIFICPA supported this call by Donating 1,480.00 (US $) to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy through ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. Sagip Kapamilya Typhoon Ondoy Victims.

Let us continue to pray for the people in the Philippines whose lives have been affected by Typhoon Ondoy.
